Abstract

Sarcoidosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the prevalence of noncaseating granulomas that can affect multiple organs.
We present the case of a 35-year-old male, with no previously known pathologies, a bricklayer, from an urban area. The patient presents a 4-month history that begins with dyspnea and dry cough, as well as a feverish feeling and weight loss.
The simple chest tomography showed parahilar condensations and multiple solid nodular and micronodular lesions with a clear predominance in the upper lobes. Histopathology reports noncaseating granulomas in the lung tissue sample. Treatment with systemic corticosteroids was instituted with notable improvement in respiratory symptoms.
