Chronic kidney disease and sarcopenia a binomial installed in public health
Main Article Content
Abstract
The measurement of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) helps to determine the effects that the disease produces in the patient and the way in which it affects all aspects of their life.
In chronic renal failure (CRF) they contribute to the appearance of sarcopenia, chronic disease per se, advanced age, habitual sedentary lifestyle, added to multiple factors that deteriorate nutritional status. The presence of sarcopenia is correlated with higher mortality, disability and increased risk of falls, therefore it is associated with lower quality of life.
