Situation of the tuberculosis in vulnerable population

Abstract
The Programa Nacional de Control de la Tuberculosis (PNCT) in alliance with the countries of the region and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) they have deepened control actions to reduce the incidence and deaths from TB, one of the main pillars being laboratory surveillance.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease that continues to be a priority for public health.
Since the World Health Organization declared the TB epidemic as a global public health emergency, multiple actions have been carried out that have led to achievements, however with the aim of ending the epidemic in 2035, in 2014 , PAHO adopted the End TB Strategy, for which indigenous peoples should be prioritized with a prevention and control system at the regional, national, and subnational level that is sustainable in the long term, considering the needs and points of view of the most vulnerable groups of indigenous societies, taking into account the gaps associated with gender and inter-ethnic discrimination, without forgetting people with disabilities, children, adolescents, and the elderly.
