Revista del Nacional (Itauguá) (ISSN 2307-3640 online version) is the official organ of scientific diffusion of the Centro Médico Nacional - Hospital Nacional, Itauguá-Paraguay dependiente del Ministerio de Salud Pública y Bienestar Social. The objective of this journal is to publish with standards of excellence, the research, scientific and intellectual production of original and unpublished works, of current topics (studies that do not exceed two years prior to publication), generated by national and international professionals in the area of clinical medicine, biomedical research (application of biology and physiology to medicine), dentistry, nursing, nutrition, public health, microbiology, molecular biology, health biotechnology, and other health-related areas. Manuscripts on traditional, complementary and integrative medicines will be thoroughly evaluated by the editorial board for acceptance, with relevance and community interest as the main criteria. It is published every four months with an annual volume. It does not charge evaluation or publication fees, and is free and open access. The authors assign to the Journal the ownership of their copyrights, so that the articles may be published and disseminated in any format or media, under the Creative Commons Attribution License. The approval of the submitted manuscript will be based on its relevance, originality and scientific validity. The opinions issued on them will be communicated exclusively to the corresponding author within six weeks of receipt.
The evaluation will go through the following stages:
1st review: by the Consejo Editorial de la Revista del Nacional (Itauguá). An initial evaluation of the manuscripts is carried out to verify that they comply with the regulations and objectives of the journal, as well as with the general methodological criteria.
If accepted, the article proceeds to the second stage.
2nd review and evaluation: the review will be conducted by two professional peer reviewers, experts in the thematic area of the article and will be double-blind (both authors and reviewers are anonymous at all times), national and foreign, guaranteeing the strict confidentiality of all the data of the work.
The opinion may be:
1. Approved 2. Approved with modifications 3. Not approved (with suggestions and restarting the process) 4. The decision of acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is finally made by the Editorial Committee according to the evaluation reports of the peer review process. 5. Once the original is accepted for publication, the pre-publication version will be sent to the authors for their approval.
